Thanks a lot @matt40k I'll get in touch. Very annoying in a way. I've tried to look for off the shelf products that suit our needs and integrate with SIMS, but as of yet I'm at a standstill.

Hi guys, need to pick your brains. We've had SIMS for near three years now. We also have a bespoke dismissal system (works on SQL) whereby a parent/guardian swipes an access card at one of our school gates to notify the teacher that they're ready to take the child home. This is a ministry requirement at the international school I work for. Thing is, the two systems are in no way integrated... I was wondering if anyone had any success in writing data (attendance data) directly into SIMS from any such bespoke system or if someone might know of a best approach? I'm starting to think that a solution using MS Flow might be the best way forward. I want to be able to have an app (possibly a power app button) that the driver/carer presses in order to release the child. Any ideas?

Hi all, I'm struggling to find a GPO template to set the Time Zone in Windows 10. I've tried forcing a policy by setting the following registry key, but for some reason it hasn't worked. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation Any ideas?

WSUS will download any update required for any machine it sees fit. You need to make sure that you have your clients pointing to the new WSUS server for updates. You also need to make sure that you have selected the correct categories of updates that you want your WSUS to download, e.g. critical, drivers, security etc. Also check you have a decent amount of storage space for the updates.

There's a really good online Assessment Course Bundle for SIMS - https://davidpott.com/ Aside from that, I agree with others - see if you can get yourself on an LA course. You may also be more successful focusing your efforts on primary schools to begin with, until you have some experience. Way more primary schools use SIMS than secondary - just my two pence worth.

Did you find a resolution? I found out the issue I was having was a simple fix - not to have a gap between one academic year and the next... My dates were simply not matching up.

Thanks for the replies. I've tried your suggestions, but still no joy. I've since found that a virus has corrupted some of my SIMS setup files, so I'm guessing this could be the issue, as one of them was the Pulsar application. I'm going to try replacing the setup files and see if that does the trick...

I'm having this issue now... Did you ever find a solution? I've tried updating / repair .net, reinstalling SIMS client, but still no luck.

I'm also trying to create my own .xml files from an online application form, but have no experience with this before. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
