IanT Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 We've had contact with someone at Edxcel, they are having issues at present!
Stephen_UAH Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Did they have any ideas how long it will take to fix?
Stephen_UAH Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 You can now login, but still nothing through A2C
Stephen_UAH Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 EdExcel files have just come through!!!!!!!!!!
round2it Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 On my way now im going home early though as i wont see any payment for extra hours
synaesthesia Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Education.gov.uk site being dog slow this morning. No surprises! Glad to see noone here expects us to be in at pointless hours - why on earth would people be in at midnight? What's wrong with doing it in the day, embargo means there's no difference to when anyone else gets the results surely?
Boredguy Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So far no screams from our Exams Officer who was in with the Head at 7:40 so assume everything is importing happily. More staff will be arriving in 10 mins when we're "officially" open. Hopefully they will all be gone by 3:30 so I can lock up, otherwise the Head will have to hang around and do it himself since he opened up. mwhahaha
FragglePete Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Exams Officer and Data Analyst where both in at 7:00am this morning - all data imported with no major dramas. I arrive at 8:15am (my official start time). It's the only day in my contract that I'm not allowed to take off just in case. Data Analyst is pouring over spread sheets and preparing all the reports for SMT as I type. Pete
mthomas08 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I turned up normal time, around 8:20am. Not seen anyone but contractors/caretakers (as usual). With the SIMs update done and buried there won't be any issues.

Poor planning, quick to panic, if there are problems it wont be fixed till capita start (9am? 8am?).
CAM Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) Turned up normal holiday time ~8.30 and exams officer was still downloading. Just finished checks and running analysis now. Because I run 4Matrix I run the SIMS extract and bam, data in and ready for viewing. A few checks of my own and it's ready for SLT to look at. Edited August 19, 2015 by CAM
7UD9 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Eeek! Fire ravages Normanton school building - BBC News Hope everyone is safe. I also hope the backups are somewhere offsite/fireproof!
Sagima Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Doesn't everything get downloaded and checked on the Wednesday? Our exams officers seem to do all their work the day before results day and they are quite happy working from about 9 and cause us no problems and are usually gone by mid afternoon. THERADIOTUBBY Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 For all of us who were left frustrated after midnight Weds morning...... Your EDI results files and A2C - Wednesday 19 August Dear Colleague Thank you, and congratulations, to all Exams Officers, Managers and other exam staff for the great job that you have done to deliver results to your students today. The work that you do is absolutely critical to a successful results day, and I hope that you have received all the help and support you needed from us this week. Equally, we work hard to ensure that our systems and services provide you with what you need, when you need it. As you may be aware, our EDI results files were not available to download by A2C at midnight on Wednesday as planned. Due to a technical issue, the results files were made available just after 3am. I would like to apologise to anyone who experienced a delay in downloading their EDI files as a result of this delay. Our Technology team is investigating the cause of the delay and will take action to ensure that this doesn’t reoccur. We will also review how we update you on any issues that arise outside of our normal office hours on results days. We look forward to working with and supporting you over the coming academic year. Yours faithfully David Sands Director of Customer Services (Qualifications) UK Customer Services Pearson UK
