Mr Staines admitted he "tweaked his groin" trying to get away from the marauding animal and back to the safety of the club.

Surely the wrong time to be fiddling with your bits?

I love how gloriously overwritten it is. Stuff objectivity, let's write the article like it's a Redwall story!

"The ferocious beast appeared... Panic reigned, with a woman being bitten, a man falling off his bicycle as he was chased... A man who tried to outpace the fearsome creature on his bicycle was chased into a field... Club members ended up barricaded inside the building."

We'll probably see another wave of anti-fox sentiment from the papers again. I'm not kidding either, it's happened before painting them as attacking people all the time when it's a rare occurrence!

In before the in-depth BBC analysis titled "Why do foxes attack humans?"

Panic reigned, with a woman being bitten,........

OMG a fox attacked a grown woman and bit her hand completely unprovoked for no reason!!!!!

A woman who tried to distract the fox with food sustained a bite to her hand.

ahhhhhh ok then....

I guess saying "A stupid woman that tried to hand feed a wild fox got bitten" doesn't get the same amount of attention.

"Foxes can look very sweet, but as a family-orientated club we had real concerns about this rather vicious animal. We have hundreds of children playing in our leagues here," Mr Staines said.

It has all the requirements to be a daily mail headline.
