Hello all.

I just got an email from Core ECS saying that it's education arm is being shut down and no support will be given after the 31st of July.

Talmos and ALP is a Core ECS product correct? So we have to somehow get a new VLE working by September??? (I don't know much about our VLE) Is there anywhere else we could get support?

Cheers.

Based on our conversations they are quite happy for the licenced parts to continue to be used so you don't have to change everything immediately, but we find ourselves in the same situation. If we come up with any bright ideas we'll post them here.

Hi, if you are looking for a new VLE to replace Talmos, we have just launched a free onsite Moodle VLE trial service, which includes integration with SIMS. The technology we have developed allows us to implement Moodle into your school environment remotely and integrate with SIMS within a matter of hours. You can then trial Moodle with real student, teacher and class data (saving time on configuration). With SIMS integration, you can also view student data (assessment, attendance, achievement, behaviour, timetable etc) within Moodle. We can also provide free introductory webinar training so you can make full use of Moodle during the trial.

This is a no obligation trial so you can pilot Moodle before making a decision. Our paid for version includes Active Directory integration for single sign-on.

Here is a link to a couple of case studies - School Case Studies | Overnet Data

If you are interested in a free trial, just drop me a PM. I'm confident we can deliver a VLE solution for September if that is required.

Best wishes

That's a shame. Had a lot of respect for Neil and the team. I thought there was something not right when they put a server replacement proposal together for my school but then said couldn't deliver on it.

Hi Guys, did any "bright ideas" ever emerge?

I've just started as Network Manager at a school and have been greeted with this, coupled with the fact that the modules are in a non working state!

We're going to need to switch to something else some time soon but it would be great to get this running again in the interim period!
