Kingstech Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Hope this is the right section got put this. I have got a Samsung Galaxy tab 2, when ever I click on the built in email app (called Email) the app will close and then comes up with Unfortunately, Email has stopped. So I can't get on to email. Has anyone got any suggestions on fixing this?
difinity Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Have you done a reboot of your Galaxy ? Can you check your emails another way ? Earlier in the year it was discovered a specially crafted email would crash the app. Maybe delete if one has been sent. Try clearing your cache and you could always reinstalled if none of the above works.
Kingstech Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Gmail app works fine for gmail but other accounts won't work. I've cleaned the cache and tried rebooting the tablet.
j224 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Gmail recently added support for other accounts so they should work fine.
elsiegee40 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and have been experimenting with email apps ever since the gmail app went red a year or so ago. The builtin app and I didn't get on. Gmail is great on my iphone, but when it went red on the android tablet It became too unstable. I am currently using the Type app (previously called Blue) which seems to be the best of a bad bunch.
X-13 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I use Inbox on my S4, though I think that's gmail only. If you want to still use the default email app, have you tried clearing the cache and data?

Removed all accounts and added only one but that hasn't helped.
Michael Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 You could try backing up the device and performing a factory restore. Not a quick process, but should do the trick seeing you've explored other methods of trying to fix it.
Oaktech Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 The new MS Outlook app for Android will allow you to add all sorts of accounts... Might be worth a go. 1

Oaktech Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 The MS outlook app is not compatible with the tablet. Noooooooooooo!
mikkydoos Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Someone brought me a Samsung Galaxy phone the other day where the email app was loading but displayed garbled messages. Couldn't think of how to fix it except factory resetting it - which I didn't Try using AquaMail. Its very functional and supports most mail providers. 1
jamesb Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I use K-@ Mail, which I've been very happy with. It also integrates well with APG which is a nice touch. 1
