andydis Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 can ANYONE access this website and content, without any error messages /popups / Java errors / installation of uncertified ACtiveX. I have tried everything on various different computers on various sites , chrome says its unsupported , IE says (with latest java unsupported) IE with an old java works (after you have clicked through a load of errorS) Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds or Wordle - US Constitution
localzuk Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Without prompts of some form? No. With the Java plugin being blocked by default, then allowing it? Yes. That's with Java 8u45, in Chrome. Fails to run in IE11.
pooley Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Latest chrome throwing up java plugin issues. IE works ok
halbaradkenafin Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I've had it working at various points by updating to the latest java and putting in exceptions for the site. I think we also had an issue with Java not doing Kerberos Auth for Smoothwall so I had to set up a separate port for NTLM purely for Java and point it at that in the config for Proxy use. I haven't looked at it in a few weeks so it's probably broken again with the new version of java being out.
smithson83 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 We use ABCya Word Clouds after fighting with Java over Wordle not wanting to play... No java needed 3

I added the following two sites to the exception.sites and entered the proxy details to the deployment.properties file so that Java used the NTLM port on our Smoothwall proxy. wordle.net wordle.appspot.com I haven't looked at it in a few weeks so it's probably broken again with the new version of java being out. It's still working for us in Chrome. http://vgy.me/xbl2od.png 1

LeMarchand Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Java! Someone mentioned this to me a while ago and I completely forgot. Win7, J8.45. Chrome: Unsupported plugin IE11: Have to allow Java applet to run, even with exceptions in the list. Thanks to @smithson83 and @Arthur for the alternatives.
