Hello,

We recently got a Fujitsu server. After installing the OS I tried joining the domain but I get an error "The network path was not found". In Event Viewer I get an Error code 4097 regarding "netjoin" with another error code of 53. The server is connected to the network because I can ping everything internally and externally. I am completely lost now- Microsoft wasn't helpful.

Thanks

date/time

firewall

drivers/firmware

Can you ping your DCs?

Date- Correct

Firewall- was ON, I turned it OFF.

Can't get drivers due to no internet connectivity. I can ping my DC and when joining to the domain it asks me for credentials but after than it fails. nslookup works on the DC too. Network configuration is correct after running ipconfig/all.

if this is a 2012R2 machine what version are your DCs at?

there are a few posts out there that suggest attempting to join a 2012r2 machine to DCs at 2003 may cause an issue

Whats your DNS set too?

can you ping the domain name? whats it resolve too? open a cmd and

nbtstat -a

replace the with an ip address of a domain controller

The current DC is 2008 R2 and the other servers join to it no problem.

I can ping the domain name and the DC. When I use the nbtstat -a I get the full NetBIOS table.

Does nslookup internaldomainname.yourdomain.whatever resolve to your current DCs?

Is dcdiag /q and repadmin /replsum coming back clean?

What's the functional level of your domain and forest?

It's coming back clean with an exception on NcSecDesc. Currently running on a 2003 domain level.

This is the error:

Can you precreate the account in ad and then connect it?

Doesn't work...

which includes the domain name you are connecting too?

Yep.
