sted Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 finished persona 5 this morning(and then immediately started new game plus) boy is the ending long have a couple of hours free as you know youre on the last boss the dialogue basically tells you and there arnt any more save points for 90 mins or so (obviously depending on how long it takes you to kill it and i was levelled up (73)enough it was more time consuming than hard but it did one shot my character once so had to start again). WHo you have a relationship with and who you have maxed out does make a difference to the the end events so if you want more interaction with a characters get them maxed out or you cant talk to them. think my playtime was something in the order of 110 hour and theres an entire arcana i missed and apparently from the trophys some side missions i suspect my new game plus wont go anywhere fast as im not willing to put as much time a day into it and fire emblem echos is out a week on friday and im still playing mario kart 8 deluxe and snakes pass looks fun and for a change a short game not another 100 hour plus one which will make a change recently
sted Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 i missed and apparently from the trophys some side missions make that 2 arcanas and after a bit of research damn they could of been useful oh well im back into the 1st dungeon and with new game plus i have shed loads of cash and weapons and only 2 atributes left to max out
korifugi Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Got into the Quake Champions closed beta Starts tomorrow, but, apparently it's under NDA, so I'm not s'posed to talk about it. Dammit! Don't go against the first two rules of Quake Fight club. 1
Garacesh Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Dammit! Don't go against the first two rules of Quake Fight club. Ha Genuinely enjoying the beta though. If they implement some kind of matchmaking/team balancing, I can see myself dropping Overwatch for it. There's nothing specifically wrong with Overwatch's match formula.. But sometimes you don't need a story, mission etc. Sometimes it's enough to make it simple. "You have dudes. They have dudes. One of you will no longer have dudes.".. Maybe it'd help if Overwatch had more than two game-modes.

sted Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Those were the days! always preferred unreal tournament myself
Tesla Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 always preferred unreal tournament myself I have that (or maybe championship...) on the Old xbox. Tis also good. Not sure which i could say i prefer.........
bald_pig Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 I have a copy of UT99 floating about, but back then I had a dc, and I played quake 3. Earliest pc games I played were quake, dn3d, doom, fade to black...

Earliest pc games I played were quake, dn3d, doom, fade to black... no command and conquer with ai so iffy you could use sandbag walls to block them in their own base(or just surround their harvesters and wait till they run out of cash)
Garacesh Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) Is it still Quake like in it's essence? Used to have Quake 3 Arena on the DC, loved the rail gun! Very much so. Yes it's class-based now, but the classes aren't too different. They each have their own max health, max armour and movespeed, and they each have their own passive and active abilities. But the abilities are singular and on 30 second timers (which is about three lives in a game like Quake) and don't last very long, such as invisible for 4 seconds, spitting poison, a self-heal, etc. Weapons and arenas are still very much Quake-y. And yes, the rail gun is a thing There's a few balance tweaks I'd like to see (the Rail Gun, for example, can 1-hit Nyx as it does 80 damage hip-fired and 100 damage zoomed in, and she has a health pool of 75, and the LG is disproportionately powerful right now) but overall, it's a very well fleshed out game and despite technically being a class/hero shooter, it still feels like Quake and Unreal Tournament did back in the day. Edit: Inb4 I log on tonight and get the banhammer for breaching NDA.. Which I didn't actually agree to, come to think of it. I just put in a product key and downloaded the game. korifugi Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 FINALLY, after maxing levels, doing secret dungeons, extra challenges and two run throughs (approx. 250 hours hammering away), I've finished Resonance of Fate. Absolutely loved it - now I'm kind of floundering for what to play next on the PS3

Persona 5 is definitely on the list to get - I'm currently loving Persona 4 on the Vita and 5 is being hailed as even better. might even try and platinum it as so far i have 0 of those lol Be wary - that's a long path you're looking at. I'm now on 78 Plats and still want more Edited May 11, 2017 by korifugi

I'm now on 78 Plats and still want more yeah im not going to do it regually but i feel i want to for this game by default im an xbox gamer anyway so gamerscore generally means more to me and i aim to top 50k this year(currently 47'825) now if only there was a reason to boot up my xbox the hotwheels addition to forza horizons 3 is fun but i cant see it lasting long as ive played it for a bit and still went back to persona lol
GuyJD Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 xbox the hotwheels addition to forza horizons 3 is fun but i cant see it lasting long as ive played it for a bit and still went back to persona lolLooks a lot like the Cunning stunts addition to GTA online, I was looking at getting it but I wasn't sure if it'd be another Blizzard mountain that I'd play for a couple of hours and not go back to.

That's my experience so far it's fun and I got 60 gamerscore but tbh I think I'd rather play Mario kart but it's a good 1/2 hour time waster and tbh I think that's what the whole forza franchise has become I used to love it but it can now wait till it's on sale I just don't get the fun I used to out of it
Garacesh Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Another Quake Champions beta starts tomorrow. Apparently they're basically giving away keys now. All you gotta do is go to https://quake.bethesda.net/ and give 'em an e-mail address.
Tesla Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 Recently started trying to play Magic Carpet again, anyone ever play that back in the day?
korifugi Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Recently started trying to play Magic Carpet again, anyone ever play that back in the day? Ahhh, yes - trying to match the up and down movement of the wyrms so you can reliably hit them with fireballs.
Tesla Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Ahhh, yes - trying to match the up and down movement of the wyrms so you can reliably hit them with fireballs. That's the dragons. The wyrms are the ones that are on the floor. The game is so hard. Can be playing a level for an hour and have to start from scratch if you die. 1

Tesla Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 sorry - been a while. I remember this blowing my mind when I was younger - never really got too far on it though It's on the PS Store somewhere if you fancy it......... Though i'd spent around 45 minutes on a level the other day (after a few failed attempts) Was well on my way to beating the level and the game froze! PS. Just seen how i wrote that reply at 8:16, didn't mean it to come across all serious like, (blame my lack of coffee!)
korifugi Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 It's on the PS Store somewhere if you fancy it......... Don't. I have enough to be on with - currently carving my way through Port Royale 3 (freebie), Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and trying to get the platinum out of Diablo 3. I am keeping an eye on the store however - for price drops on Suikoden 3 (which is apparently the best in the series but was never released over here - Suikoden 2 being one of the two games I have ever literally shouted at as it took a character away) and Her Majesty's S.P.I.F.F.I.N.G. (which is a short, but wonderfully satirical point & click adventure about The Queen getting fed up of all this europe and brexit business, dissolving parliament and commanding we expand the British Empire in the stars)
X-13 Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Playing more Persona 5, nearly up to the opening (it makes sense if you've played it) Got a few S.links maxed, but I keep hitting ones that require a stat maxed to continue... Not cool. I've got 1 I can't even start.
