Norphy Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The graphics card needs to support HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 or alternatively, DisplayPort 1.2 to output at 4k. I think that modern Intel IGPs support that. 1
3s-gtech Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 You will need a graphics output capable of driving 4K, so your integrated graphics outputs and older cards will struggle. For 60Hz output (less flicker) you'll need HDMI 2.0, or Displayport 1.2+. HDMI 1.4 can do 4k at 30Hz which is fine for films but may be tiring with other media. 1

OxfordBlue Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 For 60Hz output (less flicker) you'll need.... much of 'flicker' comes from the dimming of the LED backlights, where flicker-free displays are available now.
