edutech4schools Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Just had a message back to say that it definitely does use encryption for the connection, I would imagine it's part of Google drive API anyway but who knows. Obviously once its up on Googles servers its heavily encrypted and you can use two factor Auth on the account to give another layer of protection.
localzuk Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 No block based backup though still, meaning no differential or incremental backup.
edutech4schools Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 incremental backup works fine, I use it without any issues.
localzuk Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 incremental backup works fine, I use it without any issues. Ah, forgot to include "for vhds". Without block level backup, there's no incremental or differential backup for virtual machine disks.
edutech4schools Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 But it does do block leve,l although not tried it on vhds.
localzuk Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 But it does do block leve,l although not tried it on vhds. It doesn't with Google Drive. I've tried, and the option simply didn't exist in the software. I've even got a full license on my home machine here and it doesn't do it. Their tech support confirmed it and said they would be making note of the request for it, along with the other requests on their forums. Unless they've changed it in the last 2 months anyway.
