Hi all,

I have a naughty Exchange server, Its a fresh install of both Server 2008 R2 and Exchange.

No matter what I try I cannot get Autodiscover to work and I cannot for love nor money, log in to OWA - I get username and password incorrect. Have tried locally and over the internet!

Any Ideas ?

Thanks all.

I believe I have autodiscover DNs made yes Ive got the A record autodiscover.domain.com pointing to the IP of the Exchange server (external IP)

It doesnt resolve on the Autodiscover connectivity test on the microsoft website.

No not specifying domain, simply because Ive set the domain in the Exchnage Management Console to Forms based and have selected domain.

Im going to try it set to Integrated for authentication.

No difference using Integrated Windows Auth..... COuldnt even get OWA to display so have gone back to forms based and have auto-selected the domain.

I can get the OWA page again but upon entering the correct credentials the screen flashes and Im back at the login page!!

Hair is being ripped out!

Are you trying to do the autodiscover from externally?

have you enabled outlook anywhere?

what message do you get when logging into OWA?

Yes tried Autodiscover externally using Outlook 2013 .. email couldnt be found.

Outlook anywhere is enabled I believe, How do I check

I don't get any errors ... the page just flashes and Im presented with the login screen again.

Thanks for all of your help guys ... I really need this working

My Authentication for OWA (according to EMC) are as follows...

Yes, I believe so.

In my 123reg control panel i have an A record pointing to the IP for Exchange, and a CNAME for the domain which is autodiscover.domain.com

Still cant get on OWA :( - Autodiscover wouldn't be so bad if I could get on OWA.

I have just tried a good old Reboot and now I get this on EMC...

I give up. Guess its time for a reload. Although why this has happened Ive no Idea as Its a fresh install of both 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010.

This may sound daft, but I've found the following ports being open helped here. We had a similar issue in my last workplace, and it worked after.

80TCP, 110TCP, 143TCP, 443TCP, 587TCP, 993TCP and 995TCP

This ensures all types of clients (POP3, IMAP, SMTP, Encrypted and Unencrypted) could gain access.

Sorry to state the bloomin' obvious, but , I take it you've edited the screengrab to remove the actual targets?

Yeah, privacy and all that :)

The A records seem to be working fine, I've spt my dummy out shut down the 2008 machine and am installing 2012 with Exchange 2013. Will see how that goes. Do those records look right ?

Yep - the records look fine.

Also - you might want to edit that attachment - the domain is in the bottom left hand corner... ;-)

Nevermind. :).... Im halfway through Server 2012 install now. Is there any decent guides for Exchange 2013 ? Never touched it before!
