So progressive they don't regularly attend the BETT Show?

Hi Griff, Bromcom did not find attendance at BETT to be an effective for its post “BETT 2010 Report” marketing strategy, needing to divert resources into local authority tender bids and having found local regional events more effective and certainly more convenient for interested parties. We certainly had feedback from a number of local authorities and schools telling us that they’re not attending because of budget cuts and the cost of taking the personnel away from their normal duties for the day. Whilst we picked up some international interest, our marketing focus remains in the UK.

We will continue to monitor the situation and may return to BETT in the future. It should not be forgotten that the budget for marketing comes from the profits of school sales and certainly in these austere times, we prefer to invest more in customer specific software developments (hence comments above from @Stopfords) and pass savings to our customers than attend exhibitions that they and their contemporaries do not attend. I am not trying to suggest that BETT does not have its place and I am sure it is an effective marketing venue for many suppliers. Incidentally we now run regular online webinars to present the Bromcom solution. Some are MIS general and others are themed to a particular interest area, such as Assessment without Levels.

@SimonLewin thanks for that reply on your BETT status.

Also in regards to the comments from @Stopfords truly inspirational stuff I look forward to his/hers further contributions on the forum. Its funny this is the 2nd time I have seen a new user with 0 previous posts who happens to sign up on the same day someone mentions Bromcom in a slightly negative light...funny that on that one hasn't posted since their first comment either.

Well, new customers are encouraged to engage in the support community.

The advice and support people get from the Edugeek forums is generally positive so we always suggest people pop in here and take a look.

Everyone has to have a first post somewhere.

and seeing as the OP asked for opinions, everyone is allowed one :)

Not our fault that @Stopfords has had a great experience.....

hang on, er actually I suppose it actually "is" totally our fault on that one :D

ps. I miss the freebies from BETT :(
