Hi

We enabled Yammer for testing to see if we'd like to use it in school, ultimately we decided against it. Now we want to get rid of the Yammer tile from the O365 nav bar.

I have made sure that Yammer/Newsfeed is set to 'Hide' under SharePoint settings, also I've made sure that we have switched back to 'Use SharePoint Newsfeed' under Enterprise social collaboration.

Does anyone know how we can get rid of the tile for everyone? Or disable/leave the Yammer network all together?

The settings above is how we had it set before enabling Yammer and the Newsfeed + Yammer tiles were hidden!

Thanks

I've been looking at this today as we want to disable that, Newsfeed and Sites for our students. It appears that the settings in the SharePoint Admin affect the welcome screen tiles, but not the My Apps/Nav bar section. As now I cannot see Sites/Newsfeed as a pupil when they log in, but click the nav bar, they can still access it.

As far as I can tell, Microsoft not implemented a way to remove them completely, so I'm still researching to see if I can find any workarounds.

Edit: I take some of the above back - after signing on as our test student again this afternoon, it appears that Sites and Newsfeed have also disappeared from the My Apps section.

According to this forum, Microsoft say the tile cannot be removed. It is recommended that we leave some feedback if we are affected by this issue!

I think it's important for education customers to have the ability to take control of this feature.
