Anyone using Hitachi projectors?

Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on a Hitachi EX250 projector or similar model? I've been buying Epson X11s which I've been happy with, but the Hitachis come with a 5 year guarantee at the same price (can't justify the 67% premium for the Casio LEDs, especially as this will only be used for a few hours per week at most).

i've got some hitachi projectors but not that model. So far they are trouble free, 1 did breakdown but they swapped it out the next day.

We have loads of Hitachi projectors, they are absolutely fine.

We have Hitachi projectors and they have been trouble free except the Lamps seem to have a built in life expectancy. Lamps that are absolutely fine and bright will cause the projector to turn itself off with a lamp warning. I believe this is something built into the lamp itself and is only rectified by purchasing a new one. It is annoying because we have some ancient Sanyo projectors that just keep on going with lamps that are 5 years old and we only change them when we can no longer see the projected image but the Hitachi's need changing much more often and before the image quality is degraded.

You cna reset the lamp life on the projectors normally, we usually replace them on death or poor image.

 

We have NECs that do the same, they say the bulb is 2000 hours old and won't turn on, you have to doa little trick to reset them and then they are fine again.

We have all Hitachi (apart from one Benq bought for a specific purpose) and generally speaking we don't have a lot of issues with them. Certainly more robust than the Sanyos and Epsons they replaced.

I'd love to know how to do that. I have reset the counter that is found on the projector menu and that doesn't fix it. What is the 'little trick'?

All sounding good. I love that I can come on here and quickly get the views of people with real and relevant experience - makes purchasing much less stressful

They now come with a 3 year guarantee on the bulb plus a voucher for a replacement bulb if it fails in year 4 or 5. If I get 5 years or of a £300 projector I'll be more than happy.

We've got Sanyo's, Epsons and Hitachi projectors here and I must admit the Hitachi ones are pretty robust and we are finding the image quality lasts much longer than the other brands. Over the last two years we've only bought Hitachi projectors for both us and our primary schools.
