lionsl2005 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Hi all We have Solus 2. what is the easiest way to do the sims update on clients? ( may be on pc startup or log on). Teachers are not local admins. at the moment i have to go around and log in as admin to update the sims? Thanks in advance.
PhilNeal Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Solus 2 reaches end of life within the next 12 months. You should move to SOLUS3 - its getting pretty good feedback on another thread.
Bubbles Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 SOULS 3 is broken. It does not effectively upgrade schools with more than one database, the Local Authority deployment report does not update accurately, upgrades fail and get stuck during "roll back" leaving systems inaccessible, and this Spring upgrade is causing the SQL service to die in a large number of schools when applying the SIMS database upgrade.
3s-gtech Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 We have two databases. SOLUS3 works well for us, without the issues you describe. Your problems may not lie with S3 itself - it is very sensitive to its environment including DNS.
