It is used as a reverse proxy and is the replacement for UAG.

Is your WAP server on the domain or workgroup?

Hi, Did you get anywhere with Web application Proxy ? I have tried to publish exchange 2013 but i cannot get it to work. Have you managed to publish any other applications using this ?

We setup WAP (Web Application Proxy) within are academy group to publish certain services along side ADFS.

Important to point out:

Is WAP a replacement for TMG 2010 and/or UAG 2010?

No. The bottom line is that WAP offers a very small subset of what both TMG and UAG offered. WAP is pure and simple a reverse proxy solution for publishing your internal web applications to external clients.

Note, we are still using UAG for publishing some other services.

Thanks for the reply, I am currently looking for a service that will allow users to login once from home to access all of our services. Not sure this will do this.

Thanks

We looked at it for TMG replacement and wrote it off, its too basic and not flexible enough and are now evaluating the Kemp appliance which they helpfully suggest as a TMG replacement.

I use it for adfs but it's a very basic reverse proxy. It can do exchange as well but i don't have experience of that. I don't there is a need for open source as this is free with 2012r2, unless extra functionality is needed.

it only has 2 options, pass-through or authenticate at WAP
