Hardware disposal

Good morning to you all...

 

 

A few pointers required...

 

Do you pay for the disposal/destruction/recycling of the hardware?

Who do you use and do they provide the relevant documentation for your records?

Pay.... no way, plenty of companies will come and pick up kit.. Just needs to be a reasonable amount.

I have never paid in all the times we have scrapped equipment,

 

We use Computer Disposals Limited, aslong as you have 25 items or more they will come and collect it all for free i believe!

PRM Greentech is who we use. Need a minimum of 30 servers/computers/printers/monitors/laptops and then they will take away any other WEEE provided it doesn't contain any refrigerants. Edited March 23, 2015 by Oaktech

We don't pay, have a few local companies that will pick it up for free. We usually wait until theirs a fair bit mind.

 

Last few weeks we have had alot of companies phoning about paid disposal... With some charging up to £500 per pickup...

They are based near Chester but do pick ups all over the UK, We are down is Ashford, Kent.

 

They want more than 20 items and also take odd items like hair straighteners!

Same Here. Great Service. They are due to pick up 300 odd items next week, all free of charge.

 

We also get a certificate with all the hard drive serial numbers and confirmation that they have been wiped securely.

I have organised a collection with PRM...

Been using PRM for about five years now and never had a problem. They're in here again next week as I seek to reclaim some of our storage.
