topsy666 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Beard growing is turning into a passion, anyone use beard oil or can recommend any? I use TUSCAN black label beard oil at the moment which I highly recommend Beard Oil if you are into the oiling and growing of beards!
jinnantonnixx Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Scientists are warning that we may have already hit 'peak beard'. Personally, if I wanted everybody to look like Edwardians, I would have been born earlier. Negative frequency-dependent preferences and variation in male facial hair | Biology Letters 1
MatthewL Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Why oil, thought that went in the car! I'm debating weather to shave mine off, had mine 6 months, although its short its getting annoying now.
jinnantonnixx Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Some suggestions... http://www.buzzfeed.com/tabathaleggett/23-incredible-hipster-beards
localzuk Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 My beard growing is very easy - I do nothing. I wash it and that's about it. It grows by itself, without any fancy products...
6Foot2 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I had my hair and beard cut recently. Mrs DaveP occasionally gets a look in her eye every so often: That's when the hair comes off.
unixman_again Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I've had a beard for about 15 years and it just grows. I've had a moustache for about 37 years - same story.
Gardinho Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I'd highly recommend this online store: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BaldyBeardy Cheap, quick delivery, and personalised advice. Products are amazing too. See the reviews.
Andrew_C Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 My beard is over 30, and it has never needed oiling. Doesn't squeak; why oil it?
john Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 @Domino is surely a king for this thread Go back through EduGeek photos from events over the years and watch his beard grow
CamelMan Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 A friend of mine actually setup a company hand making and selling this sort of stuff: GRUFF BEARD PRODUCTS: Balms, Oils & Soaps Handmade in Wales, UK Doing quite well!
abillybob Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I don't bother using any kind of oil's or stuff like that, I'm quite fortunate and it just grows on it's own. Though I don't like to grow it past a grade 2 so regularly use hair clippers to trim it down and use scissors to keep my moustache in shape and not grown into my mouth. I also like to keep it in shape with my face so regularly keep it trimmed with a Gillette Razor I tend to also use Gillette's moisturiser and chuck that all over my face in a morning and ensure to rub it into my beard so not to get flaky skin underneath. I find having facial hair and keeping it how you want is quite a lot more effort than just clean shaving.
Gardinho Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 The biggest thing I would recommend is Pine Tar Soap. You can wash the beard thoroughly without stripping it of it's natural oils. It feels so much better than washing it with head shampoo. The smell is seriously manly too!
hardtailstar Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 When I do have a beard I just let it grow. Not fussed with oils etc.
