Tempted by a 4GB GTX960 with free Witcher 3, but willing to be swayed.

From what I can tell, some of the AMD cards might mean buying a new PSU (currently 450W), so that would add quite a bit to their price.

£200 is top whack - let the battle commence!

I've just got an ASUS GTX960 STRIX, really good graphics card as far as i can tell. Runs everything i want it to on maxed graphics. Runs at a pretty low temp in my opinion (does't even touch 60 degrees in my machine while playing games).

Edit - I didn't get Witcher 3 with mine unfortunately :c

R9 285 isn't worth it. It marginally beats the 280 on the memory clock speed, and thats it. Everything else the R9 280 beats it. More GDDR5 RAM, better memory bus, better memory bandwidth, faster core clock...and the 280 is about £20 cheaper as well.

280X on the otherhand...beats both, but is quite a way out of the price range.

Thanks folks. The 280/285s were also on the list (though need to check the power draw) also reviews for the 4GB 960 aren't out yet, so hard to tell if the extra 1 or 2 (or possibly 0.5 or 1.5) GB makes up for other features.

Currently got an older AMD card, and the Catalyst Driver often gives me gyp when trying to swap from my normal 2 screen setup to "third screen only". Anyone know if the Nvidia equivalent is less of a pain?

960 is compelling value in this price bracket, if you go for the cheaper cards. It's not definitive - a '960Ti' or similar would be good here. You can get an R9 280X within your budget - definitely worth considering too! These have more VRAM and are slightly quicker, at the cost of more juice to run.
