Gibbo: I can see other PHP pages yeah, I've got loads of various different php applications running on this IIS server.

Webman: I'm not sure where you meant the ? or / needed to go but I tried it as a change to the web address, ie. http://blah/crbs/index.php? and / respectively - no luck. Also tried changing the rewrite rule in the same way, although IIS probably isn't processing that anyway. Also tried changing the $config['index_page'] and that didn't work either. I'm not keen on using Apache as well as IIS. I agree Apache is better but theres other webservers in the school running IIS and it would be messy and complicated for any successors. Besides, a phrase I find myself saying far too often.. "it should be able to do it!" lol

Thank you both for replying, any more suggestions?

I've done a fresh install of wamp but now I get 'page cannot be displayed' when I go into phpmyadmin even though I have the exception in ie. :confused:

I'm accessing it direct on the webserver. Still no joy. I'm just wondering if it is clashing with our web-based library software Oliver.

Is WAMP running? What do you get when you just browse to http://localhost/ ?

WAMP says its online. I have started all the services. When I try to access localhost its the http 400 bad request- web page cannot be displayed.

That's odd. It does sound like it's not loading properly or there is a conflict. Click on the WAMP icon > Apache > Apache error log and look for any signs in there as to what the issue could be.

If I can find a test server to install IIS on I'll give it a go today and see how I get on.

That would be very kind of you if you could. Equally, if you don't have time, please let me know too. Thanks a lot.

This is in the background due to SIMS stuff at the moment but I would still very much like to get it working!

Thanks guys,

Shuriken.

I fixed the problem by changing the offset from 1 to 2. Seems to work but I have no idea what else it might break!

function getFirstDayOfWeek($year, $weeknr)
{
$offset = date('w', mktime(0,0,0,1,1,$year));
$offset = ($offset < 5) ? 2-$offset : 8-$offset;
$monday = mktime(0,0,0,1,1+$offset,$year);

return strtotime('+' . ($weeknr - 1) . ' weeks', $monday);
}

So when is version 2 hitting the high street? I can't wait to get my hands on it - It will finally mean being able to scrap the aweful system we have now as soon as webman's app has LDAP. :D

@denon101: Is the database hostname actually 'booking'? Usually MySQL is running on the same server as the webserver so should just be 'localhost'.

I have changed it back to localhost and it has made no difference. Do you need to setup a DB in mysql? the instructions on the wiki does not give instructions on how to setup a db using SQLite.

Maybe I am doing this all wrong. Forgive my stupidity. But help would be most appreciated.

Ah, SQLite. I've never used that before; but the documentation says:

For example, when using SQLite you will not need to supply a username or password, and the database name will be the path to your database file. The information above assumes you are using MySQL

I would create a SQLite DB first using your preferred method, and then just set the database config file to the path of the SQLite file.

I installed the Devizes school one now.

Anyone know how to remove the copyright? I'm going to donate anyway, they just haven't got back to me yet.

I have just installed classroombookings and have to say looks great and so far been easy to setup.

But we've come across a problem where no matter what day you book it adds it today's. All dates are today. I thought i'd check the Week dates option but get page not found "http://moon:8080/room/index.php/weeks/dates_dates.php".

We also get it on reports "http://moon:8080/room/index.php/reports"

Any ideas about their only being todays date or the missing pages?

Posted

Hi dave.81.... That is a known bug, sorry... The only way round that is at the moment is to change the view type in the Settings page to 'One day at a time' instead of 'One room at a time'.

The Week Dates icon/link you mentioned is redundant, and the reporting function has not been created (yet). In an ideal world I would have removed the Reporting icon (or had time to create the reporting function); but I'm only human ;)

Posted

Well in that case it's all working wonderfully and much improved over our old system, well i think so whether the teachers agree we'll wait to see.

Heyho reporting is a bonus not a must and there are only so many hours in the day lol...

Thanks

Hi,

Ive got classroombookings running okish but im new to apache and php so without sounding stupid(hopefully) how do i give apache server permissions to the folders specified in the installation instructions?

Posted

@jonnellan: Is the server Linux/Unix or Windows? If Linux it is just a matter of doing something like this:

$ cd /var/www/classroombookings/
$ chmod -R 775 webroot/images/roomphotos
$ chmod -R 775 webroot/images/schoollogo
$ chmod -R 775 webroot/images/bg
$ chmod -R 775 system/cache
$ chmod -R 775 temp

where /var/www/classroombookings is the directory you installed it to.
