What are you typing from your remote machines? Do you have WAMP running on a different port if you have IIS already using port 80?

http://servername:port/classroombookingsystems

i have got one step closer :) thank you for all your help so far. I now def have the wamp server live and i have also changed the config file to now say http://(servername)/classroombookings/ but when i move to another machine and test this i get

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

•Internet connectivity has been lost.

•The website is temporarily unavailable.

•The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.

•The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.

•There might be a typing error in the address.

•If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

on the other machines i am typing in http://(servername)/classroombookings/

i dont have ISS installed on the server only the WAMPSERVER 2.0i when i do the apache test port 80 it brings up your port 80 is actually used by:

Server: Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.2.9

i was talking to a guy from c2k when i ust checked to make sure that port 80 wasnt blocked and he said something about binding the internal ip address to that of the wampserver he said something like the wamp server would use 127.0.0.1 is that right is it possible to bind the server IP to this?

it is very strange that from the computer i have wampserver installed when searching on the internet with http://localhost/classroombookings/ it works fine when i try http://(servername)/classroombookings/ this also seems to work fine but when i try http://(serverip)/classroombooking/ i get the following error

Explanation: The request timed out before the page could be retrieved.

Try the following:

Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion.

Check spelling: Check that you typed the Web page address correctly. The address may have been mistyped.

Contact website: You may want to contact the website administrator to make sure the Web page still exists. You can do this by using the e-mail address or phone number listed on the website home page.

If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting your administrator or Helpdesk.

Page can not be displayed

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Code 10060: Connection timeout

Background: The gateway could not receive a timely response from the website you are trying to access. This might indicate that the network is congested, or that the website is experiencing technical difficulties.

it does look like things are blocked at the router which is stopping me from seeing the bookingsystem from another computer. I have asked to unblock this so that it can work but this can take up to 3 weeks thank you very much for all your help EDU-IT as soon as things are working ill post back up again.

HI thank you for your post yes i have added it in but still does the same thing. It turns out our legacy network is blocked on the router from the cat B side this doesnt allow any other computer to see the booking system from the internet or network other than the host machine. So i have been told :)

Don't click the icon link for week dates (something I forgot to take out). You just set the week dates in the main week add/edit page :)

Whenever a member of staff books a room for a furture date, it books the room on the day we're on.

e.g. if we're on Monday 11th January period 1, and try to book for Thursday 14th period 4, it will book in the Monday 11th January Period 4 and not on the Thursday.

administrators can change the date but staff can't

How do resolve this problem as it happens for every member of staff and administrator?

Is this with Classroombookings? If so, you need to change the Booking display type (School Details page) to 'One day at a time'. There is a bug in the other option, which gives the behaviour you described above.
