Oaktech Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) Ok, this is doing my nut in now... I can't get the bloody start screen layout to work like I expect. I've exported the screen as XML... I've put it in a user and computer accessible share... I've created separate computer and user policies as per the instructions. I've run RSOP and it says it's getting applied, but I've got camera and onedrive tiles missing and I can't work out why. The thing I'm interested in is the camera app really as the teachers want to use it a lot. I've also created shortcuts for the camera on the desktop and in the start menu and they don't work for pupils either - the shortcuts work for admins and staff, but for pupils just open the my documents folder. LoyalHeretic Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) A little late to the party with this one, but i'm currently doing the same thing trying to get Start Menu layout. Looking through the RSOP data it looks like the same policy is enabled that caused my problems. I had to disable the "Remove common program groups from Start menu." setting and then it allowed the layout to work, but all the icons from the public desktop now appear on my desktop. Hope this helps, i'm now struggling to find a way of dealing with the desktop icons and taskbar. Edited March 4, 2015 by LoyalHeretic wrong GPO name 1
MrMDStreet Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Are you redirecting the Start Menu? This helped with our users. With the redirected Start Menu structure you can then have icons display but not pin. You can then construct your pinned Start Menu from there.

Oaktech Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Ok, removing the gpo setting for removing common programme groups has given me visibility of the things that are missing... My issue now is that the kids logins won't work with the camera. There is an error about not being compatible with the launch contract...
