sonic1485 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Morning all! I avoid using these pieces of software like the plague although I like the idea of them. I was just wondering if anybody used one that they actually trust and does what they want it to do?
X-13 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 My work desktop used to have an Intel driver dooblydoo, but it never worked because of the proxy. These sort of thing seem to be aimed at home computers.

MatthewL Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Used one a few years back as I was struggling to find drivers for a PC I was rebuilding but generally these days the few drivers I have to install I can get from either Dell or HP and any others a quick search of the PCI details and your nearly there.

However, I use MDT onsite and have built up quite an extensive driver database on there. So I have a customised dpinst.exe and xml file which I can run that then parses through my database and installs anything that matches 1

themightymrp Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Just unzip the 3 files from here into the root of your deploymentshare$ It won't affect MDT in any way but if you manage to connect your PC/laptop to the network, just browse to the share and run either dpinst.exe or dpinst64.exe to find your drivers drivers.zip 2

DavePa Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I've always been wary of using these kind of tools (the free versions) as they are sometimes 'nagware' with a purpose of trying to encourage you to buy something else. If I can't find the drivers on the manufacturer's website I'll tend to use PCIDatabase or Google in common with some of the previous posters
