rich_tech Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hello Edugeekers, We have a dead iPad 4 on our site, looks as though battery is dead on the device - charged it for three nights running with seperate chargers and nothing, wont respond in itunes at all either and want to know if anyone here knows of or uses a reliable/quality repair service for these devices ? I looked at Apple and the OOW repair service quoted £256.44 for the service, when we can buy new for around £300 so its not really competitive. Thanks, Rich

JB7 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Was about to reply with a company we use but then I realised we are a long long way from each other based on our locations Still wanted to help though so did a little Google Search, have you tried/heard of Greenpoint IT - According to their website they offer a no fix no fee policy and on their facebook page I read that they offer a 1 year warranty with replacements
unixman_again Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 We've used Timpsons in the past - they may not be the cheapest, but they are a 2 min walk from the college and time is precious.
mac_shinobi Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Didn't @CPLTD do ipad repairs , if not then this company : https://www.mendmyi.com/ More specifically : https://www.mendmyi.com/repairs/apple/ipad-repairs/ Edited February 11, 2015 by mac_shinobi
StephenHardy Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Do it yourself.... Use a heat gun to pry the screen off, replace battery and stick the screen back on - might be worth having a screen ready to order as they break easily
StephenHardy Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I do them myself its cheaper and more satisfying
xenonive Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I've used Millgate for repairs , was quick and to high standards so happy to recommend them . 1

rich_tech Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 thanks all, I have asked a few of our suppliers also as well as some mentioned, I havent the time to swap out a screen myself, so far I have only changed 4 iphone screens for my wife (don't ask, she keeps letting the boy grab it and throw it) I know an ipad screen is a lot more involved.
mac_shinobi Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 No Problem - Curious who you end up using to repair the iPad(s) in question
