Board Games...

whats your thoughts on the boardgames, like:

Bioshock, Street Fighter ect?

any of you had any experience of them?

Best 'board game' I have is Cards Against Humanity... I guess technically a card game whatevs. Didn't know you could play Street Fighter as a board game?

Don't know those specific board games, but am a big fan of tabletop gaming in general. Firefly the Game is excellent (you need a LARGE table to play it). Settlers of Catan is great for getting rid of friends. Cards against Humanity is brilliant for figuring out who the sickest one of your friends is.

 

Flux is good for a quick bit of fun (in one of its many editions).

 

Ticket to Ride is another great game, played quite a few games of that now. Yet to win one though!!

If you have spare time have a look at TableTop on the Geek and Sundry youTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4F80C7D2DC8D9B6C). Each episode is a play through of a game or a few shorter ones. You often get really interesting games come up and it is is strangely fascinating watch a group play. Sounds a terrible idea but I really enjoyed it.

 

I picked Tsuro up after seeing it and finally got the concept of Settlers of Catan so bought that too.

 

Saw Get Bit on there, which is a great little game.

It's all about Hero Quest with my 10 year old son! He loves it.

This is my new addiction, generally spend around £100 every visit to the shop, just picked up Doomtown and Gears of War. They've got X-Com in the one in Leeds and Firefly in my Scarborough store now, so need to grab those next.

Catan is such a good game! Used to play it loads back in the day.

Zombicide, Small World and the Terry Pratchett games (Discworld: Ankh-Morpork & Witches) also feature.

 

I've chipped in for the Conan The Barbarian kickstarter , not cheap but you get soooooo much with all the stretch goals they've added.

It’s expensive it’ll give you that. We paid £49.99 buy it now for the game and we’ve spent about another £50 - £60 in the last few months on expansions. Really ace game. Play it for many a hours.

I managed to get a first edition of Dungeonquest, only 2 plastic conical counters missing out of upwards of 300 assorted cards / pieces. Paid £1.

 

Checked the prices and second and third editions were going for £40+ with a third of the pieces missing.

Excellent finds! I really want to play Forbidden Island, although I consider myself extremely fortunate to have picked up Castle Panic for £1.75 in a charity shop. My son loves it.
