Our client's school is based in Godalming and they are looking to recruit for this new role.

 

As the Data Analyst, you will report to the IT Development Manager, who oversees your day to day work, and will work within the IT support team to provide technical support, guidance and data management services across the school community.

 

 

The Post-Holder will have:

 

  • Excellent and demonstrable IT skills
  • A good eye for detail, a highly organised approach and be able to work under pressure
  • The ability and motivation to learn new skills and
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people

 

 

The Responsibilities:

Improve data management across and between the school systems, both on-site and cloud hosted solutions.

Creating / maintaining and developing SQL based reports using SSRS from specifications.

Creating and building integration routines to improve data efficiency and transfer between systems.

Providing support and development with the school’s SQL based administration systems.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the efficient and smooth-running of the School’s administration.
  • To assist the marketing and development teams with their development and data management
  • Provide cover for your colleagues within the team during their absence.
  • Enjoy contributing to the development of a lively and busy team.

 

 

Skills and Attributes

 

  • Strong Excel skills with specific focus on data manipulation and linking with SQL databases.
  • Good analytical / problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to organise / prioritise workloads
  • Knowledge of database and data management within SQL Server including T-SQL queries / Data Import & Export
  • Support experience in a Windows / Apple environment.
  • Experience in the following areas would also be desirable, though not essential, as training will be given:
  • Exposure to a school MIS system such as iSAMS.
  • Exposure to BIDS / SSRS a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with macro's/ VBA scripts

 

 

Conditions of Employment

 

  • This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week. The exact arrangement of these hours may be flexible, according to the requirements.
  • The post-holder will be entitled to 6 weeks paid holiday a year, to be taken during School holidays, with 3 days of the entitlement to be taken during the Christmas period as determined by the School.
  • There is a contributory pension scheme, which staff may join if they wish. Details are available from the School Accountant.
  • Lunch is available free of charge during school term.
  • Employees are eligible for reduced fees if their children attend the School.
  • There will be a six months probationary period.
  • The position is subject to enhanced DBS certification and satisfactory references being obtained.
