googlemad Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Long story cut short my iPhone 5 got nicked on Friday (Put it down on a table, walked away then realized 30 seconds later by which point it was already gone and not handed in), here are a few top tips : -Don't turn off iCloud to save battery life -Remember to turn back on Find My iPhone after sending iPhone in for service -As much as iTunes sucks ensure it is installed on at least one computer you plug your iPhone into frequently so it can take a backup I did none of the above so am pretty much screwed in that respect Anyway looking at getting the iPhone 6 as I've been with Apple since the off and therefore have far too much investment in the ecosystem to even consider anything else, does anyone have the 6 Plus? Thinking of the Plus rather than the 6 as I can then probably flog my iPad Mini 16GB which only really gets used for BBC iPlayer downloads on the train and the odd game of Monopoly!
synaesthesia Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Can't offer any useful information, just wanted to express the irony of the requirements and your username 3
Joanne Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I've held one and it is very nice. Just go for it. I personally have a HTC one M8 because it is sexy as. I feel the iphone 6 design has slightly ripped off the HTC M8 design... but you can't trademark a rectangle with rounded edges and a couple of lines on the back!!
IrritableTech Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I've just moved to an iPhone 6. Even in my fairly large hands using it one handed can be a stretch for my thumb to reach the top left corner. I'd suggest the 6+ is a two handed phone (or phablet). For me it was the right decision to buy the 6 rather than the 6+.
DalekSec Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Try and buy it without giving any money to apple, its the best way ( Ask Moss )
abillybob Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 A Teacher I'm very close to has one here. Basically you know the iPhone, the thing you've had for 2 or so years before. It's exactly the same but with a much higher price point and a bigger screen. Enjoy.
3s-gtech Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 A Teacher I'm very close to has one here. Uncomfortably close? You could probably do with giving them some space, sitting there stroking their phone. Oh wait, that's not their phone!

Haha. We used to date. But we're very good friends now she let me have a look at her new iPhone over lunch. And No. That's no a euphemism.
Zoom7000 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) I've got an iPhone 6 Plus. Definitely the best phone I have had to date. Prior to this I had an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and before that was a Nokia N73 running Symbian (Anyone remember that?!) Anyway, back on track, I bought both the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus on release day. The 6 was for my wife, the 6 Plus for me. I was daunted by the size of the box for a few minutes, but once I got using the phone, I was pretty much used to it within 15 minutes. Now, I look back at an iPhone 4 and can't believe how I managed! A teacher asked me to put in the WiFi password on her iPhone 4 the other day and I found it very awkward to type on such a tiny screen. I use my wife's iPhone 6 every so often and I even find that small and much prefer the size of the 6 Plus. I definitely say go for it, but you do have the luxury of trying before you buy by going to an Apple Store, I bought mine on release date so had to kinda measure up against my friends Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I cut out a paper template to show the wife what she'd be getting in comparison to mine! rich_tech Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 probably going to get one, two of my friends have them and they are excellent phones, big, but excellent, though 64gb is pretty much the minimum size i would go for now, as my iPhone 4s is sad now and depressed, it lacks the energy to go day by day now. Even with a new battery I fitted last night, it seems to be worse than the original batter ¬_¬ perils of replacement parts I suppose.
Zoom7000 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 though 64gb is pretty much the minimum size i would go for now Definitely, I highly recommend staying away from the 16GB model as you'll barely be left with any space once you've installed some of the larger sized apps on the AppStore. In addition to the fact that iOS 9 will probably eat in to a huge chunk of space too.
Sylv3r Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I love my iPhone6 plus now. I used to carry my iPAD mini all over the place to take my notes, diary etc with me but now do everything via the iPhone6 plus. 1

The iPhone 6 Plus does everything I want.
googlemad Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Bought the Plus 64GB The deciding factors for me was the battery life which I couldn't test but loading up the Daily Mail website side by side in the Apple Store on the Plus vs the normal one I could read the smaller front page summary articles on the Plus whereas on the normal it looked 'blurred' until zoomed in slightly (My eyes are horrendously bad!).
