Camera with VGA

Hi all,

 

Bit of a stab in the dark with this one, my food tech teacher has demanded (yes, demanded) a camera over the top of her cooking area so that it can be projected onto the whiteboard, it needs to be VGA/HDMI to plug into the projector.

 

For whatever reason I seem to be failing to find a camera that does this, any one got any ideas?

Why not just any IP camera which is accessible from, well, anywhere! Or any basic webcam? (We've just been asked exactly the same thing)

 

Or, if you have ipads or staff have iphones, a mount for one of those and stream the camera to the PC & projector via the various available (free) apps, accessible by any browser. Saves faffing with input sources on the projector which you know full well those staff will struggle with! (Sir, it's broken! It's not showing the pc!)

Above the cooker hood? Going to need something that can withstand a fair bit of heat then...

I think an IP camera is probably the best bet really, tried messing around with a visualiser but the camera quality is a bit naff.

If there is a PC near by, then you can always just run a USB webcam into the machine and get them to run a piece of software to put it up on the projector? I know we have that on a new clamp which was advised by Science for it. Ours is run through a Microsoft LifeCam, yes, it's not amazing quality, but it does the job and when it dies/someone puts it a bit too close to the heat and it melts a bit, its cheap to replace!

Many visualisers have VGA output. From experience with our Aver kit, they will survive a bit of heat and abuse (used for Science experiements), but might be a little clunky to mount up. It'll work though.
