dhicks Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 just wanted to know how you guys all tend to get there? If you come in to central London by train, the quickest way to get to the Excel centre is going to be by RIB boat. The DLR is a good second option, though, and probably a bit less draughty at that time of year. If you get there early, the breakfast in the pub above the Excel centre is quite good.
witch Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 WHUT!? We don't bite! I nibble a little sometimes, but i'm getting better... I hug...quite a lot 3
Little-Miss Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I hug...quite a lot hmmm...if you're the tactile sort, you're probably better off saying hi to @witch in that case...
witch Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Can confirm. Pfft - think YOU are getting one this year? After your remarks? Dream on, my little pony
abillybob Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Haha all sounds very exciting Thankyou for all the transport tips everybody!!! Now I just can't let my line manager know otherwise he will want to go as well and then there's very little chance I'll get to say Hi to you guys , he's not a nasty bloke but I'd much rather go on my own or with @scotyboy56 although he never picks up his god damn phone!!!
Boredguy Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 To BETT or not to BETT, that is the question. Just not the same simple trip since they moved from Olympia. In those days I could park in Hammersmith and just walk along, now I'd have to use tubes and DLR =/

In those days I could park in Hammersmith and just walk along, now I'd have to use tubes and DLR =/ I'm with you on this, the old venue would have suited me a lot better also and the travel does seem a bit insane. Apparently county have arranged some kind of bus or transport or something (this is just hear say) to BETT so I want to find out about that because if that's the case it'll be super easy for me to get there I can even have a morning nap on the Bus I know one Network Manager that is flying from Birmingham to London Airport and back in the same day to go to BETT, apparently it hasn't cost him much more as a train would have and it's only like 30minute flying time
elsiegee40 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) Moved to the BETT 2015 forum The good news is that there are no planned works on the underground or DLR for that period Edited December 11, 2014 by elsiegee40

I'm sorry!! I have been busy all morning with stupid photocopiers and my phone didn't register a missed call or anything I am available now and I have turned it up full volume so give me a ring 1

GREED Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Moved to the BETT 2015 forum The good news is that there are no planned works on the underground or DLR for that period Well that will make a change... give it time, give it time!
elsiegee40 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Well that will make a change... give it time, give it time! The news for those travelling on Southeastern trains into/through London Bridge isn't so good http://www.edugeek.net/forums/bett-2015/146660-bett-2015-travel-arrangements.html#post1255741
X-13 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Yes, I know. the ninja hug only happens the once "once". You've done it twice so far. Apparently, you can't keep your hands off of me.
Griff Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Be afraid, be very afraid. Don't whatever happens let them scan you, you'll never hear the end! I am hoping speaking to them in person I might be able to put across my point. Hoping the sales guy that laughed down the phone and said 'oh well worth a try to me' after I warned him about persistently calling our school despite me asking multiple times previously to be removed from their calling list he then rang me the next day and asked for my colleague refusing to state his company..

When you do confront him I think it would be very Mature of you to allow all the EduGeek members to stand around in a circle chanting fight, fight, fight while you tell him off. 2

Be warned, BETT is HUGE and if you are just there for a day it would make sense to split up as you won't get to see all of it.
Stevecee Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Hi Did you know IBS are arranging a coach from the Finstall Centre? Its a long day but might be worth it! Steve
ICTDirect_Dave Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) I'm wondering if there's gonna be free mojitos... Me too, though you perhaps had enough last time WHUT!? We don't bite! I nibble a little sometimes, but i'm getting better... Until she's had a few Mojitos Train from Shropshire to London Euston. London Underground (Northern Line towards Morden/Kennington via Bank Branch) to Bank. DLR (towards Beckton) to Custom House for Excel changing at Canning Town if needed. Basically my route too, except i get on the train to Euston at Preston We shall indeed be there. Once more with Smoothwall on stand E250 sandwiched inbetween Microsoft and Google. Of course, as always, be laying on free pizza at lunchtime as always as well as a plethora of freebies and other niceities that @VeryPC want you to cage fight for - More info on that closer to the time. So please do pop by and stop for a chat. We don't bite and it's always a shame to see members who post up after their visit that they didn't want to disturb us or felt nervous in meeting us so walked on by. Trust me, we're here to meet you all and can also give you directions if you are lost. BETT can be very stressful if its your first time (or even 10th!) which is why we're the only stand to have couches for our members use when you need to take a break. Can wait You're miles away from us this time! I'll have worked off enough calories for an extra pizza by the time i get over to you. Edited December 11, 2014 by Little-Miss
abillybob Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Hi Did you know IBS are arranging a coach from the Finstall Centre? Its a long day but might be worth it! Steve Hey Mate, Yeah spoke to Scott. I'm going to try contacting Kate to see if there are still seats available and if so I'm going to use the coach I think, if not I'll just go down with Scott. Thank you though

SHODAN Sympathiser is, and always will be, the best job title. GLaDOS Wrangler is equally awesome.
