CGower Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Morning, I have rolled out .Net 4.5.2 school wide, the same night Sims did a upgrade Now im getting a error on Sims "Sims requires .Net 4.0 please install" although .net 4.5.2 is installed, Iv installed 4.5.2 as Target Tracker requires it. I have removed and reinstalled .net and it resolves the issues until the machine is turned off I have run a repair on .net and again works until machine is turned off and back on The strange thing is it works with a restart but breaks when the machine is turned off.......... I have made sure nothing is deployed on start-up Now this is not a site issue as it's happened at two sites Please help as both schools are unable to take registers
synaesthesia Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 that'll be the version of SIMS that was withdrawn, right? could they be related @PhilNeal ?
CGower Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 it was the Autumn 2014 release - I have just been told there is another release on the 12th of Autumn 2014 2 - where is the notification of the withdraw?
synaesthesia Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Was emailed out to everyone I believe. May be different if it goes through an LA in your case. Was withdrawn on Thursday afternoon.
LeMarchand Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Great! All my schools use Target Tracker! Is it just the register function? Fortunately they don't do the register via SIMS.
CGower Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 That's great - it was installed on Thursday evening - lol - two of my sites had it on the same day
synaesthesia Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 sure? Autumn release is 7.1.60 - 159 is summer.
synaesthesia Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Refer you to http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/146322-capita-pull-autumn-2014-release-why.html
CGower Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 thanks for that but there is no reference to the issues im having
PhilNeal Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 You will need to raise a case. The problems referred to in this thread aren't connected to known issues.
apearson Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Is this just a one off problem, seen only by the OP or is it a case that the Autumn update will not work if dot net 4.5.2 is installed? Can anyone with both installed confirm that they do work together? I don't want to install the SIMS update next week and find we lose SIMS all together.
churchy112 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I haven't seen this in my Target Tracker schools. I've e-mailed my contact at Capita so I'll let you know what they say.
churchy112 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Heres what I got from Capita: Currently SIMS .net does not utilise any of the new features included within .NET Framework 4.5 or 4.5.1 and therefore does not necessarily require either of these versions to be installed on a workstation or server. However on a Windows 8, 8.1, Server 2012 or a 2012 R2 machine where 4.5 or 4.5.1 are pre-installed as a feature, these versions of .NET Framework are backwards compatible and will work with .NET Framework 4.0 applications (such as SIMS .net). Important Note: Some customers might encounter an issue with logging in to SIMS .net or FMS after upgrading to MS .NET Framework 4.5.1 or after applying an update for it. This is currently being investigated,
