Hey Guys

So WSUS is working although it's serving all the clients with IE 11 and for some odd reason Group Policy on Windows Server 2008 R2 won't set the settings I want it to such as proxy etc... on IE 11.

Is there anywhere I can download an Internet Explorer 10 msi or exe to install on the clients? How can I block WSUS from serving IE11? Am I right in thinking IE 10 should be ok and can be managed by Windows Server 2008R2?

Thankyou :)

You need a Windows 8 era machine (either Windows 8/8.1 or Server 2012/2012 R2) to manage IE 10+, the preferences don't show up on 2008 R2, only 9 or lower. At least, that was the state of play the last time I looked!

We have our policy defined as an Internet Explorer 10 preference, and it works fine with IE 11 (we have it deployed everywhere).

You can edit the XML file to make the same IE8 policies be applied to IE11 quite easily.

Unless you are on a Windows 8 workstation you will not see IE10 or IE11 in the GPP view (and then you can not use a Windows 7 station to edit that GPO again it seems)
