Beware of SanDisk SSDs - I bought 2 18 months or so back, and so far, both have been replaced under warranty, and one of the replacements has also been replaced.

 

Each time, total failure without warning. Literally working perfectly one minute, dead the next. Nothing on SMART to suggest imminent failure, no loss of performance.

 

The first replacements also require you to ship the defective unit back to Czech Republic at your own cost (about £10 Airmail), although they did send me a UPS label to send back the failed replacement. Replacement takes 2-3 weeks including shipping time which is 3 or 4 days by UPS.

Ditto this, we've had issues with Sandisk units although we do have a suite full of slightly more recent ones that haven't batted an eyelid.

I wouldnt touch Sandisk SSD's. Im a samsung SSD Fan. (although my work computer got a Kingston V300 SSD in)

If they wanted to sell large volume, they would have chosen 'Cyber Sunday', when most people are off. It even involves alliteration.

 

A more cynical observer may conclude that it's just a scheme to whip up a frenzy of impulse buys as people quickly dip in and out the sales sites while at work. Limited stock! Buy now! Not my view, of course.

Can't vouch for SanDisk SSD's as I have't used one but every single one of my SanDisk USB Sticks have all died on me in the same way.

Gonna say since we put in Sandisk SSDs around our school in during the summer we've not had any problems, but hey ho.
