I want to give my old man's machine a bit of an upgrade, easiest and simplest way would be to stick a SSD in it. Now I want to be lazy and use clonezilla to clone one drive from the other.

Not done something like this for years, other than running through this guide is there anything else I will need to do? By the way I do that on any SSD install I go.

I'd rather have a bit of guidance than just going in and doing it just so I know what I could expect.

Most SSDs come with data migration tools nowadays to get it over, no need of clonezilla. Though I did a fresh install onto mine when I got my SSD.

Mine is a Samsung, so I get to use Samsung Magician to optimise my disk as well, I have a feeling others may well have their own respective optimisation tools.

Fresh install is the way to go anyway, we already know a fresh install of 7 will run better than a few year old install even on a standard sata drive.

I couldn't figure this out and ended up doing 50 machines using a usb with W7 and an answer file with PDQ Deploy.

I have used mirroring then changed the boot order to migrate.
