Hello all,

Apologies if this is in the incorrect section, couldn't find a entirely relevant section for the question.

Our contract is soon up with Concept Group (Xerox), and we are quite unhappy with their services. Its not terrible, and communication and fault resolution is swift, but there are too many issues which have arisen to confidentially stick with them.

What is all of your experience with print enterprise systems in education? I have heard good things about P-Counter, Pharos Uniprint and Canon Uniflow?

Thanks,

Arena for the school I work out is view good, problems are normal at least seen to if not fixed with 24 hours of logging a call with them, also as @Edu-IT says papercut is very easy to uses and should be looked at to see if it is right for your school.

Could try Ricoh - they have a direct sales team. We got our MFDs under a Crescent Consortium framework agreement, so its pretty cheap. Another recommendation of Papercut here too.

Try all the obvious solutions. Consider that some only work with 1 brand of device, so if you get tired of the hardware you would have to replace the software as well.

+1 for PaperCut. -10 for uniflow.

PaperCut as print management for schools is great! As it's geared towards schools.a decent window pops up to show how much each pupil has to spend on prints, all tied into AD. Cashless system handled by the library, rarely went wrong.

Uniflow which replaced our PaperCut installation - isn't. It's geared towards universities and businesses, no detail about how much is left, god help you if your student forgot their card, can be bypassed on the macs, overly complex ad installation, cashless system a joke…

Uniflow lasted half a term before it was stripped out and the PaperCut server plugged back in. Our senior university NOC was not happy about this, but were a college that teaches 16-18 who've just left school, not a university…

I'd only just joined the college and saw a beautiful working system, replaced by a mess, a kludge. NT-Ware (uniflow suppliers) still haven't released their mac installer and this is three years on!? Glad someone saw sense back then.

PaperCut hands down with Sharp MFD's you cannot go wrong there.

PCounter does the job if you want follow me printing and retention kind of thing but the reporting is shocking plus with PaperCut you get lots of additional features with the software without extras.

PaperCut can be seen at this web page, its all web based and you can have a play on there.

I second the above on both accounts.
