Average print volume?

We are a school with around 1200 students and 150 staff. We have 5 MFDs which I have no dealings with but on the printer fleet in IT rooms & offices we are averaging about 2000 pages per day (mostly mono printing). I just wondered if this was in line with other schools? We don't allow students to print except 6th form and they are on print credits so cant go crazy. Only staff can print with no restrictions.

Seems like a lot to me!!

That is a lot just for staff yeah; we average around 3000 a day typically and everyone can print. We use papercut for credits so again they don't go mad; we'd love to not have students printing! 30 monitored printers, 1900 users

If we include reprographics, about 3 million or more per year. This has gone through the roof as there has been a move from textbooks to in house produced work sheets and workbooks to allow easier differentiation. It would probably be cheaper to buy tablets for all the students tbh, but there is no desire from SLT to go down that route.

We're a prep school, 400 pupils, 150 staff, 3 large MFDs and 7 smaller colour laser printers. During term-time we're getting through about a box of A4 paper a day, so 2,500 sheets of A4, maybe 50,000 per month. That's probably not the same as the "page image" count given by the MFDs, some of which count colour prints as 3 standard prints.

300 staff, 1000 pupils. So far this term we are averaging 15k sides of A4 each day. We have about 30 MFPs and about half that again of desktop printers

 

That's fifteen thousand per work day - it seems so high I had to confirm it with the reprographics team but apparently that is accurate. So much so in fact we are buying/leasing two additional high volume printers to cope with the demand.

1800 users average week 20000 per day (minus the weekend which is around 500 each day)

Total = 63,021 pages

 

School size students = 750 on printer credits

Staff = 120 on printer credits

 

Staff are allocated 1000 printer credits per month

Students year 7 - 9 allocated 50 credits per week

Students year 10 and 11 allocated 100 credits per week

 

Mono printers = 2 printer credits cost per print

Colour printers = 5 printer credits cost per print

 

No complaints as this is part of the strategy which SLT have sanctioned and is also monitored for usage other than school work.

We include our MFDs in our print estate here, and we get through about a million pages a year, so about 5200 a day (considering only term days, as printing in holidays is very minimal). If I just look at printers and not copiers, we printed 90,000 pages on non-MFDs in the last 12 months, so less than 500 a term day.
