Nice pics @HarryMonkey, went to see a similar Floyd tribute band here in the northeast some years ago called Shine On they were also great but not as well known as the Aussie Pink Floyd.

 

Have you just tried editing them in an another app on your iPhone while you have the phone in portrait mode, then re-saving them, seems weird that it doesn't post the correct way up looks like they just need flipping rather than rotation.

On my Tour-de-Yorkshire last week we stopped by Rudston to see the monolith in the churchyard (or should that be the church built next to the monolith?).

Got there as the sun was setting and it all looked rather lovely. It's the UK's largest standing stone.

Perhaps not 100% the right forum, but I know the expertise is in this site. I'm sure I have asked before, but can't find where, but how do you control the visual size of the image when you post. I have a JPG I want to post so it can be read on screen without clicking in. I've searched hard and can't find how to, but there are a ton of attached images on here. I rescaled the image, but still posts as tiny.

I may have used that in the past, so was aware of it, but for simple snapshots on my PC, I prefer to run without the hassle of a image hosting site. What baffles me is others seem to be able to post attachments and have sensible image sizes in the thread - last recent example being http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/144580-photographers-edugeek-show-us-yer-stuff-91.html#post1974822

Am I missing a trick compared to others here?

I may have used that in the past, so was aware of it, but for simple snapshots on my PC, I prefer to run without the hassle of a image hosting site. Keep the file size under 2mb 1500px on the long side, I tend to upload from my phone.

That images in that post are the normal thumbnail size for me?

What controls the size of the thumbnail? Eearlier posts make it look like they show differently for different posts. For me, the image I want to include as a thumbnail shows up too small. In Chrome, investigating by right-clicking on the image and selecting shows

AFAIK, all thumbnails are the same, within that 150 by 150 box, and cannot be changed. An attachment is completely different to inserting the image, that attaches pretty much any file of any filetype to a post, and doesn't embed it.

I see, so the ones that are different sizes/shapes appear because they are max settings, so a thin tall image is still restricted by max 150. To conclude, I'll post as an attachment an image then second post as an image.

How do you get the image so large in the post - it doesn't look like it's a link to an external hosting site? Perhaps you could reply where this topic is being discussed...

 

When you have uploaded your image and inserted it into your new post, double-click the image in the post, while using WYSIWYG editor mode (toggle button: top left of the post toolbar)

 

You will be presented with a menu:

 

 

Select the size you would like your image to appear. Other formatting options are also available here.

 

Confirm your selection(s) by clicking OK and proceed with further editing of your post, or its submission.
