jamesb Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 The Note 4 was on my wishlist, having had a Note 2 since they came out and being very happy with it. I did go a different way in the end (largely due to a huge price difference) but people I know who've bought the Note 4 have been very happy with it.

Norphy Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 If that was the choice that I had, I'd get the Nexus. I don't trust Samsung to keep devices up to date plus TouchWiz drives me nuts. Plus the replication of services, multiple music stores, multiple app stores, a duplicate Samsung app for every Google one... bugger that. The only reason to get a Note is for the stylus, if that's important to you get the Note obviously!

The Nexus would not only get them sooner, but for longer - my Nexus 4 is still officially supported, for example. I believe the only reason the Galaxy Nexus is unsupported now is the lack of driver support now that TI have withdrawn from the SoC market. Given how much of a target Android is, security updates isn't a minor consideration. (Also TouchWiz slows everything down horribly.)
