Disaster Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Hi all, A couple of our printers need replacing in the IT rooms. Do you think it would be cheaper to have a good quality colour printer with a low page cost or; A mid range colour and a mid range mono? Thought prease?
Joanne Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 good quality colour! Be cheaper in the long run.
sonofsanta Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 One single device. Cheaper per page is cheaper per page, so a decent colour will be cheaper on mono prints as well. If nothing else, there's the electric costs (not insignificant with laser printers) and the footprint of the things - most decent laser printers are monsters still.
AlexB Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 We go with single device, but to make lives easier they get mapped has separate virtual devices (mono/colour) so they don't have to fiddle with settings to print in mono to the colour printer.
Oaktech Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Single device, make it big and then create multiple profiles for it. Double side mono/single side mono/double side colour/single side colour. Default everyone to double side mono!
