Well They all came back and said the Xbox 1 was way better, especially in terms of on online playing. Apparently MS have about 300,000 servers for online gaming and the PS4 suffers as they do not have this. One of them said he has both at home and the graphics might be ever so slightly better on PS4, but only get that if I only play single player. He said he plays the xbox1 about 85% of the time Is this all true? Do they get some kind of commission for selling xbox1 over PS4? With my XBOX 360 I normally only do online gaming and not into single player games. Anyone else got both? Any other advice? EDIT: Not sure how to change title spelling. However... the last thing I saw about this, was saying that stores have a lot of unsold XBones. They're hardselling like they do with CoD. "I see you're buying Lollipop Chainsaw... can I interest you in the Call of Duties?" IIIRC the 30,000 servers is a marketing spin. gtg93 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Not personally got either, but I know the XBOX console generally have a bigger following when it comes to online gaming, therefore the online gaming tends to be better... The 360 definitely outweighed the PS3 in terms of online gaming, but I think this was mainly down to it being a paid extra.
featured_spectre Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 MS have boat loads of servers but online play is pretty much the same from my experience. XB1 is better than PS4 for media playing and generally what you can do with it, but processor and GPU power wise you are better off with a PS4.

Its really down to the exclusives as GTA etc are coming to both mostly but I suspect the xbox has better reliability, we just had 2 major driving games launch with large amounts of social/online features and it appears Driveclub is off to a poor online start to the point of delaying the promised plus version indefinitely whereas Forza Horizon 2 had very few issues on launch. There are going to be advantages having your own cloud system to tap and offer to developers especially for launch titles. I believe anyone can be an Azure customer so Sony could theoretically buy services from MS too if desired. Downloading from Xbox One seems to be faster/as fast as my 360 where as my ps3 is never very fast but its possible the ps4 is better but its all PSN.

[When my internet doesn't play up.] Both on wireless [360 via the USB adapter], both literally next to each other.
SYNACK Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Have an XB1, have played on both, still like the UI and online bot of the XB1 better as despite improvements the PS online stuff is still inferior. The server count thing is rubbish, they backend it to azure and have as many or as few servers as they need at the time. Graphics may be slightly better on the PS4 but I like the Kinect sensor and the controller on the XB1 more hence why I brought one. Both next gen consoles still have their issues so neither is faultless and it comes down to what you want out of it and what your friends have.

How fast is your internet connection as one is connected at G which can having some pretty shocking throughput levels.

Also, the DS4 is a nice controller and has a fancy light. And the share feature is really cool. I need to mess about with it a bit more and you may be seeing some videos. [i got a few funny graphical glitches in games. I have a 5 minute video of a bin freaking out for no reason.]

I've got a PS4 and I'm totally delighted with that. The fact of the matter is that the PS4 is probably slightly 'better' technically than the xbox one, but you will be happy enough in that regard with whichever one you get. If you wish to play online with friends (I'm _not_ much of an online person myself) then you are best off getting the same console that your friends have. On the bits of online gaming I've done with the PS4 (fifa, the need for speed game) I've had no problems nor heard of anyone else with a PS4 having them.

I heard they promised to considering most dont have the camera it needs it wont help the DS4 poor battery life. The One controller has force feedback triggers which are very useful in driving games as you get vibrations to indication spinning wheels etc, also the controller lasts a week.

What I want is the best online multilayer experience, Graphics can take a back seat. None of my friends have made the jump so all are still on 360.

Latham Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I bought a PS4 a couple of weeks ago, and gosh darn it looks lovely and FIFA '15 is lovely, but in terms of media playback it's pretty limited. I've read that Sony will be releasing firmware updates to allow MP3s etc, but I really would love a bit of file format compatibility.... Have they ever added the ability to turn it off yet? I heard they promised to considering most dont have the camera it needs it wont help the DS4 poor battery life. There's an option to shut the controller off after a certain amount of time - minimum is 10 minutes though. Helps when watching Netflix....
