vikpaw Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 None of you are beating me. Sometimes, don't you just wish they'd bring back the neg rep button ^ - just for one day 1
X-13 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I'm pretty mental. I ride the estrogen dragon innit. Estrogen Dragon confirmed as real. 1
MordyT Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Estrogen Dragon confirmed as real. Half life 3 confirmed as real. (Someone had to)
Bompalompalomp Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 And here I was thinking I used it too much and for liking funny comments. 1
vikpaw Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Thanking funny comments is an odd one. It isn't strictly "useful" and waters down the 'technical' rep. I guess it moves the focus to being a community member rather than technical expert. I'd like to see a way to represent both somehow.
elsiegee40 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Oh heck! Don't let's start this one again! No rep system is perfect and we have debated this endlessly on here before... always ending up coming to the conclusion that no system is perfect. Some people care more about "blobs" and badges than others.

Tesla Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Since you're a redhead i'll duly make an exception. 1
elsiegee40 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Some people care more about "blobs" and badges than others. I just want another star *sniff Including some Moderators
sparkeh Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Argh don't take rep away from silly posts - its all I've got :-S
Joanne Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 mine are all thanks from technical answers.... I have no sense of humor
Ephelyon Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 @vikpaw does make a good point in terms of representing both, though, to be fair. If you've got a Tech Thanks button for your Tech Rep, and a Community Thanks (or whatever) button for your Comm Rep, then at least everyone knows whether it's because you've got a lot of useful tech experience or whether you contribute a lot to the community (which includes being funny). And obviously if you find someone with lots of both, they become a Godlike figure and are duly worshipped every day until they eventually transcend this mortal plane. Some might say it's a silly system but I'd argue it's practical enough, while also showing we're a mature community that knows how to poke some light fun at itself
Joanne Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 And obviously if you find someone with lots of both, they become a Godlike figure and are duly worshipped every day until they eventually transcend this mortal plane. That's deep man...
Ephelyon Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 It's true though... @Dos_Box doesn't so much drive to EduGeek conferences as simply choose to reconstitute his earthly molecules in the appropriate location.
plexer Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I just want the rep system to say more than ooh Ben - - - Updated - - - ooh I got 3 stars Ben
