[mdt] Creating Image from Scratch in with MDT

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a MDT Windows Image from Scratch, i.e. from a Windows ISO.

 

I'm happy with adding applications, drivers etc to our existing Images/builds, but just wondering how I create one from scratch.

 

I'm just beginning to think about rolling out 64bit and Windows 8 etc (soon to be Windows 10 maybe) but currently we are only rolling out Windows 7 32bit.

 

Is it just as simple as adding the Operating system into MDT and then booting it up to build the Image??

 

A bit of background into our setup

Currently we build images from a Operating System and select whether we want Standard Applications or IT and Standard Applications build Tasks.

 

The tasks install applications as required i.e. Office in both task sequences and additionally for the IT application tasks are Adobe CS6 and Visual Basic etc.

 

We create the image in a VM environment and Capture back up to MDT in the same task sequence.
