localzuk Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 He's been cleared of pre-meditated murder, and murder. He still has the possibility of "culpable homicide" which is basically manslaughter.

localzuk Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Thing with the negligence and reasonableness - I feel that there is something to be said that he was more vulnerable than a able bodied man, due to being on stumps - he couldn't exactly run away or something. I dunno. If he does get found guilty on culpable homicide, I think that needs to be taken into consideration on sentencing.

Gatt Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 There's a lot of speculation as to why the judge adjourned the court so early without giving a verdict on the manslaughter charge. Apparently its virtually unheardof to do that. Former SA judge just told the BBC that there are still options at to what sentencing he could get - anything from a suspended sentence, a few years or between 15 & 20 years.

I think he has bought his way out this one tbh. Has anyone seen the article about the judge on this case. She just bought a brand new mansion.

Not to mention, Pistorius is famous, not overly rich. He had to sell his house to pay for his lawyers, for example...

Garacesh Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 With respect.. Who really is this guy? All I know is he's 'a paralympian who shot is girlfriend through a bathroom door'. Why has this been such a huge case with the media? Sounds like any other homicide/murder case to me. I'd never even heard his name before this case began (and admittedly I haven't really followed it much)
visioN Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 He's a paralympian athlete who was in the Olympics here in 2012 so many know who is he who followed it. His partner he shot was also a model I think so also famous but not sure
