Hi all, on average how long does it take for Apple to Whitelist your IP/domain to allow more than 10 Apple IDs to be created? When I contacted them from the VPP site I had a quick reply back asking for details which I responded straight back to, but it's been a few days now and I'm under pressure form the powers that be to get IDs sorted...

Also, has anyone had any luck with bulk creation tools on Mavericks? I've found one or two for earlier versions of OSX bu tmy Applescript knowledge is non existent so getting them to work on Mavericks is going to be a struggle for me!

Cheers

Whitelisting takes a couple of weeks to set up, give VPP support a chase with some dates, you will get 30 days to get all of your Apple ID's created so do some planning around these.

Do not use any scripts to bulk create them as you will find yourself blacklisted, my best advice if you are doing them yourself is to (although very tedious) go through them all on the iPads. If you try and create them using a Mac you will run into problems as Apple use a token which knows which device created the ID.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I am just taking over the ipad fleet over here, I have submitted my request to Apple who have whitelisted what I need but how do I now creat the Apple IDs? is there a special application/website that I go to?

Unfortunately there are no supported scripts from Apple you will gave to go through iTunes to create these and if you have to manage all of these yourself it's a considerable amount of work.

If this is a 1:1 then I would be asking the students to create these themselves as part of the iPad deployment process. If they are shared devices then don't bother with an Apple ID as you can assign profiles and apps to device serial numbers with no Apple ID required now.

There is no supported way by apple to bulk create apple ID's. There are some scripts floating around on the internet which can automate the process but quite often these scripts can be out of date as apple change their itunes/app store quite often. Or a new OS will come out. If you can't get a script to work you'll have to manually create them all and also verify them.

If these are 1:1 devices I would create a guide for students to follow and get them to setup the apple ID's themselves.

If these are shared devices I would check the VPP store to see if the apps you want on the iPads are device assignable. This means you can assign the app to the device even if there is no Apple ID associated with it. Now or apps are device assignable - the developer has to turn this feature on.
