Well the next BETT will more than likely be my last one so I'm hoping for a good haul.

Best year I had for freebies at BETT was a couple of years ago when I blagged the following:

 

4 T-Shirts

250 Lollipops

2 Memory Sticks

£150 worth of software

8 Mugs

A large number of pens

1 Laptop

and 2 lots of lunch

 

The best thing was that I was only there for 1 day

 

Wow! You did well, how on earth did you blag a laptop? Or did you win it in a competition stand thingy.

I got a cheque for £150. Not that 150 quid equates to two years of spending 95% of my free periods, time before and after school, lunchtimes and bits of holidays doing work for them.

 

But still...the experience was invaluable and the HoD for ICT is now serving as my main professional reference atm

 

BTW...i'm on placement year next year if anyone has any positions on big sites etc that i might want to consider applying for

I won it in a draw after saying that I would be most disappointed if I didn't win considering how much I had spent with them over the previous years....

And my boss insists that it isn't worth me going! It'd be worth it just for all the free stuff!!

My wife's department got sick of spending out on pens to "lend" to kids who've forgotten them, so went on a mission at BETT - collectively they came back with several hundred free pens and consequently have larger departmental budget to spend on real resources this year.
