Guest aliv25 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Im not going to lie, it is a bit of a brick. the only decent thing about it is the touch screen! plus its annoying that everytime i use someone elses phone, i seem to try and touch the screen first instead of using the buttons!
gwendes Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 N95 is FAR too slow. If they'd put a similar chip to the iPhone then it'd be awesome. GPS is slow and weak and applications take too long to load - like the N80. I found myself shouting at the damn thing "I want to send a text, what are YOU doing?" Phones have a long way to go - the k8xx is fast and that's what counts - camera is awesome too. When the hardware is up to it and cheap enough I hope SE are leading the way.
L.E.K Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 The N95 is a nice phone as well but there are quite a few problems / bugs with the phone. One of the most noticable bugs with it is the phone restarting itself while in a phone call etc. Maybe at some point soon i would like to upgrade to this phone if they find a fix for it all or maybe even the Sony Ericsson K850i LEK
PeterW Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 One of the most noticable bugs with it is the phone restarting itself while in a phone call etc. I can honestly say mine has never done this although I am very keen on making sure the firmware is upto date which has resolved alot of other bugs. There is another major firmware update out soon that adds support for the Nokia Music store and the Ngage games store. Also if you get the new 8GB model this has most of the bugs/issues from the original removed, i.e better slider, better screen, more mature firmware and bigger battery.

localzuk Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I shalln't be buying one - I will most likely be moving to 3 when my contract is up in 9 months. And I'll be grabbing a nice nokia phone then.

Bromcom_John Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Geeks and Nerds, both individuals who possess extensive knowledge on subjects not normally exhibited in the general populace... Geeks however also possess social skills ps. I also am not planning on buying an iPhone, but I am also one of those people who thinks a phone should be good at making and receiving phone calls, everything else is pointless
CyberNerd Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 'Tis better to be a geek than a nerd..... Oi!!
tech_guy Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I'm 100% Geek. I even have a shirt with it printed on it ;-)
gwendes Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Damn. You become a member of a site called EduGeek and then find out some of the members are geeks... I've a good mind to leave! PS. N95 and iPhone are poo.

Guest aliv25 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Whos the model posing in the calendar at the back? :-)
tech_guy Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 That's Sarah Harding from Girl's Aloud..... ......most of the post-it notes say things like, 'Remember Kill Head' etc......
localzuk Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Oh my GOD !!!!! I see you are also a keen postage note collector...... My thoughts exactly! Someone buy this man a PDA!
crc-ict Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Anyone who buys one at £269 + £35pm needs a brain transplant. I might have thought about at the purchase price without the contract commitment, or if it was free on the contract... but the way it is takes the mickey. It's more like a pay as you go handset cost, but with a 'free premium handset' contract limitation as well. Anyways, I'm saving my pennies for one of these bad boys Alpha 700
crc-ict Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Sony Ericsson all the way (p990i) Hmm. We found those awkward, 'clunky' and not very intuative. How long did you try them for? I thought my first Sony Ericsson was a huge mistake usability wise until I got used to it. I'm a full-on convert now though. Loving the K800i
webman Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Forget that. I'm getting one of these!! It also does hands-free! Can't wait! Actually, I've just bought a Nokia 6300 and I'm very happy with it.
