Just received this email from a support case we have open regarding some VMs freezing when being backed up:

As is in vacation now, I will take care about this case.

Thank you for provided information, but infortunately our higher engineers requested more additional data for investigation.

So, what they need:

- From your host, they need full folder C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs This folder must includes many evtx files. Just zip this folder and upload to FTP

- Job log files as per KB1832. The previous job log files which yopu sent doesn't includes many needed information, which log collection wizzard includes in log archive.

- Could you point exactly time of freeze? It's great if you have exactly point of freze, if not, then you need to approximately mark is this happens on job finish, or somewhere in the middle or may be immediately at the start of the job.

I wonder if they'd mind me asking for the instructions translated to English?

I don't mind dealing with support when it's not in the UK, it just helps if they speak / type in clear English. I know it's not incomprehensible, but it's not great.

Posted this one before, and not quite a mis-translation but it's still the best one I've come across:

Basically, it is/was a hardware recovery solution - restoring everything back to what it was like previously. Apparently able to recover from even a format. Promise I didn't Google it - we actually looked at these quite a few years ago for IT Labs!

Along similar lines,

Out of curiosity, did either of you ever use them? Were they successful?

10 points to anyone who can tell me what that actually does.

From their site it seems to be some kind of system restore/deep freeze "thing". Actually most of their website is a hoot too, with gems such as:

In order to use more economic way to maintain the whole school labs, education sector will prefer to have teachers to deal with all these stuff. However, they won’t be able to do it very well.

Oh boy, don't we know it...

Have you ever been to Cyber Café once? Maybe you are not only ever been to, you even spend several hours a day there always.

Yoda is that you?

In order to provide computer users to find out the product they need under various kind of surrounding and situation, Lenten Technology designs a sort of product for you. No matter your are a administrator of computer labs or you are a home user…Lenten Reborn Card can satisfy all you need. Please choose the one you prefer and required below~

A sort of product? I guess I only sort of need it if I've never heard of it and can sort of think of three/four ways to do what I think it does. I have some pretty wild/revolting "needs" day to day too, so goodness knows how a PCI card will "sort of" service those. Also worth pointing out there is NOTHING linked or displayed below this text on the page, meaning our needs are left unsatisfied.

Google translate your original text from English>Punjabi then copy the translation back in and go from Punjabi>English. Still about the same level

Thanks for the information provided, but infortunately our engineers to investigate additional data requested.

Therefore, they need to:

- Your hosts, they need the whole folder C: \ Windows \ System32 \ winevt \ logs is necessary for the folder that contains several evtx file. Just this zip folder and upload to FTP

- KB1832 Job log file. Yopu sent, the last job log file collection wizzard log is included in the log archive that contains all the necessary information.

- If you could freeze the precise time signal? , Then you almost spot on the completion of this work is, or somewhere in the middle or at the beginning of the job can be immediately, do not need to, if you, freze is exactly the point, if it is excellent.
