Thats quite pricey for a small school. Also the MS docu I attached says that using one account on more than one device breaks their EULA.

 

Is it not the EES users, ie. if you have 80 FTE then you pay for 80 users?

I'm not sure. I can't find any conclusive evidence on this. The heads doing some enquiries so will post results.

I wonder if I could code this into a VB .net app to enter the details, although the last time i even attempted something like that was 9 years ago with Visual Basic 6

I am surprised no one has mentioned remote apps yet,I use them by locking down the tablet as much as possible with the built in parent setting then configuring the child account to auto-login the surfaces then go back to they're own VLAN which has no internet access except the remote app server and a share with the remote apps on it, then user have access to all there apps and if you put the apps/programs on server 2012 you can use touch optimization for remote apps which is pretty dam good. So far I have had no complaints just praise which is very rare and of course people are used to the standard desktop environment the only issue is when some monkey clicks remember me on the credentials prompt then the whole thing falls to pot

*I forgot the mention they access windows store apps through Remote App as well.

What about using them as a thin client (i.e. VDI) and then you could serve up any OS you please including Win 8/8.1 and authenticating as normal with network accounts? The Surface RT should have enough grunt to make this work reasonably.

I demo'd that to the head and he was impressed. Full desktop experience on tablets, great! "So how do I get an App" he says. :facedesk:
