featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I have a question...how on Earth did Neuer get away with that tiger knee to the face?
Tesla Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Because goalies have the most protection from the ref... unless they trip players with their hands at one on ones etc (i assume you're talking about the one where Higuan got floored and somehow the ref gave a free kick to Germany)???
Griff Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I loved that they showed it in slow-motion about 5 times then the normal speed one it looked absolutely brutal lol! being a goalkeeper myself I enjoyed the viewing was a bit naughty though I think but hey if youre gonna come for the ball better make damn sure you get it
Tesla Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Messi getting the Golden Ball baffles me, he did nothing past the group stages (when the games get more difficult)....big woop he scored against Nigeria, Bosnia, and Iran.... did not deserve it at all.
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I agree. It should have gone to James Rodriguez. He was brilliant on the pitch, and over his games, he covered almost the entire pitch! 1
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Most goals - James Rodriguez Most assists - Juan Cuadrado Most completed passes - Phillip Lahm Most completed crosses - Arjen Robben Most tackles won - Oscar Most shots on target - Karim Benzema Player of the tournament - Messi...it's a joke.
Tesla Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Wait, Oscar got most tackles?? thought for sure it'd be Mascherano
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Only 5 tackles between them. Oscar got most of his in group stages though.
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Actually, looked at wrong source, you are right, Mascherano got it (was done before final, so thats my bad)
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Rodriguez 100% deserved the Golden Ball! I love Messi but he definitely wasn't player of the tournament.
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Did you hear Mark Lawrenson say about it? "It looks like the hand from the Adams family". He was brilliant last night.
Earthling Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Did you hear Mark Lawrenson say about it? "It looks like the hand from the Adams family". He was brilliant last night. Mark Lawrenson or Neuer?
featured_spectre Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 both...Neuer was good in goal, Lawrenson was hilarious with his commentary.
Earthling Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Neuer was fine until he reverted to Schumacher (Harald not Michael) mode. Lawrenson was on top form, I love his sense of humour. I'm sure it was him that said, when describing a very early second-half goal in one match, 'All those spectators just getting back to their seats from their half-time cup of tea missed it. Two sugars in your tea and it's in the top corner'.........or it was someone impersonating him, but if it was, they were bang on.
sparkeh Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Messi getting the Golden Ball baffles me, he did nothing past the group stages (when the games get more difficult)....big woop he scored against Nigeria, Bosnia, and Iran.... did not deserve it at all. Maradona agrees with you! BBC Sport - World Cup 2014: Diego Maradona disagrees with Lionel Messi award Did you hear Mark Lawrenson say about it? "It looks like the hand from the Adams family". He was brilliant last night. I love Lawro, last night the wife asked why someone with such a boring voice was allowed to commentate, I just said listen to the things he says and he came out with his "Biglia more like Delia" comment
Tesla Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 When a handball was given and the guy had like no time to react he said "what do you expect him to do, cut his arm off at his sholder?" I think the eccentric things he says is made ever more funny by his boring voice!
