Last night I picked up Watch dogs and maybe played for an hour or two and at the end of it I was just confused, has anyone else played it yet? Is anyone else confused? Or I'm I missing something?

May need help understanding what is happening.

Was interested in getting this but at £59.99 for the download and £44 from Amazon I couldn't justify the cost. Will wait a couple of weeks for the price to drop into the £3X region and then get it. I'm still busy playing other games anyway. I saw some of the many trailers and did have a worry that it may be too complicated for my unsophisticated playing style.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't bought or played Watch_Dogs yet.

I've seen a few reviews saying that the story is really convoluted, but the gameplay is awesome. It's not just you.

I've played it for a couple of hours. Nothing really difficult to understand yet as far as I can see. Pretty much a bog standard open world game. Very similar to Sleeping Dogs in gameplay style.

Artwork suffers from it's last gen roots. Plastic faces, hair drawn on the sculp. I thought with The Last of Us and GTA:V we'd pretty much passed that.

The NPC AI is very, very impressive on PS4. Chicargo really feels alive. The Hacking is everything I was expecting it to be. It's a single button affair, but you can pretty much hack anything at any time - it's not scripted. Love the multiplayer. Not as seemless has Ubi wants you to believe (2-3mins for a player match!) but alot of fun hacking into other peoples games (and other people hacking in to yours).

Big city, lots todo. Tonight I'm going to complete the next mission and then start roaming around the city and unlocking the CtOS districts. May do a couple of multiplayer hacks as well if Ubi have sorted their servers out.

I don't think the story/overall game is going to stand up too well against GTA:V, but I'm not going to complain too loudly. I'm pretty much the target audience for this!

@APMerry, the game play is fine using the phone is really fun. Driving was not GTA5 so it was difficaut to get use to and I was just confused to what was happing, I'm going to start from the start just in case a miss something. That's just my view.

Another way to find out what it is like would be watching a Let's play on youtube.

Picked it up yesterday, nearly finished the first act, so far it's all pretty straight forward stuff. I saw some reviews had a few of the plot points wrong with regards to the relationship between certain characters though, that confused me for a few minutes.

I like the fact that stealth is normally a perfectly viable option, I'm playing on realistic so being shot at means bad things :p

The invasions are pretty fun too, did one this morning which involved me parking a pickup at the side of the road, cutting the engine and hiding in my seat while the poor sod ran around for the entire time scanning people walking past. Never found me.

@synaesthesia Good choice! (Not buying over Watch_Dogs, just in general :p) Picked that up last week, got my plat on Friday night. Most fun I've had with an FPS in a very long time.

The PC version shown at E3 2012 looked way better than what was eventually released. Such a shame! :(

Anyone with the PS4 version able to test something for me?

I've heard some rumors that you don't need PS+ for the multiplayer...

Honestly, given the AI and Multiplayer, I can forgive this game a lot in the graphics department. I'd hate to play this on a last gen console.

Not quickly/easily. I don't have Plus on my US account, but I'd have to start a new game and get past all the tutorial crap to test. My UK account, which I play all games on, is tied to Plus until the middle of next year (I think).

Besides, who'd buy a PS4 without Plus? Crazy, the games on IGC each month are worth more than the £50 per year. And since so little as been released AAA wise, you need PS+ to have something to play on the machine!

On the PSN+ note it switches to 2 games per month per platform in June (no year round games), which means 1 less per month for PS3, 1 more per month for PS4 and more rotation of games. 72 games a year or 5 days per game at just under 50p per game and that's without the flash sales, periodic sale and other games you may buy.

Thought about it, then decided I'd be better off spending £25 on Wolfenstein: The New Order. Far more fun!

I have to agree with Wolfenstein completed both sides to the story and the ending always makes me cry! It such a sad but brilliant story line to such a chaotic amazing gameplay I'm amazed this game didn't get more hype.

As for watchdogs I am doing the same and will wait a little while until it goes down in price on steam for close to £40 I always wait util the game is in the sales or in the £20 region, plus I hate UPlay and their online servers haven't been coping apparently with the amount of people playing Watchdogs, it looks good but I can wait :)

'Tis good new indeed. Don't have a vita, so it's 4 games per month for me. Excellent value. Actually starting a Retrogaming project after I've completed Watch_Dogs so I'll be bowing out of the generation for a while. Fingers crossed half the games I'm looking forward to this gen would have made it through PS+ by the time I catch up, or are on sale :D

@X-13, don't think I'll get chance today. But I may see if I can get far enough through the game on my US account tomorrow and test the multiplayer without Plus - just for fits and giggles ;)

Lol, yes, it's a good game! As I said before gameplay is closest to Sleeping Dogs if you've played that. Graphics aren't spectacular (although there are moments of beauty driving around). The hacking works very well and really is the core of the game. That said, it really is the AI and 1v1 multiplayer that makes it. In fact things like the res and frame rate are perfectly understandable when you see both of these in action.

Oh, and Spider Tank!

I've got somewhere between 10-15 hours on it now, definitely an enjoyable game. Hacking is basically a mashup of features from other games slightly tweaked, but done so in a really good way.

I like the fact the AI don't just derp around, you hack one of their explosives, they're not just going to stand there, they'll throw the grenade away before it explodes. Had one guy who threw it away, took out a CTOS power box and caused a blackout.

Haven't checked whether the MP works without Plus, I'm subbed until mid 2016 I think?

No im well confused too, i'm on Act 2 and all the new characters get a bit overwhelming and as I randomly drive past somewhere, ill get hacked by some online player and spend the next 20 minutes trying to find him :@

Glad it's not just me, restarted over the weekend and I now have a better idea of story line so far but I still on act 1, hopefully I won't get confused again.

Must admit I was looking forward to it - then all the poor reports I read pretty much put me off it.. Mind it did the same when I thought about getting Thief!!

So I ended up getting a preowned copy of Bioshock infinity - While I'm happy playing that - it the fact it runs on the Unreal engine that I hate
