e4e Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I am looking at installing a NAS box at one of my primary schools. I currently have 2 Netgear REadynas NV+ 4000. But looking at something simular. The school has 300 pupils and 40 staff. I am wanting something that will work with my server 2008r2 network and the schools iPads (with Mac server). Any suggestions please?
e4e Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 About 2 to 4Tb with at least option for 4 drives. Like the idea of expanding it at a later date. It doesn't need to be rack mountable.

PotNoodleTech Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 The Synology stuff is Epic. The software is great, the performance outstanding. I've got two DS2413+ and I couldn't be more pleased. A good option for you is the DS1513+ as thats a 5 bay yet can be expanded with another 5 bay add on enclosure at a later date - so 10 drives.
3s-gtech Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I'm a big fan of the ReadyNAS stuff, especially the Pro line, but again the Synology stuff is on another level. The interface and flexibility is unbelievable.
